I know that my songs of the week are usually songs with lyrics and ones that are generally heard on the radio. Oh, Tim Burton how you seem to be my exception. After all, I made an exception to my abstention from watching films of the horror genre when I saw Sweeney Todd. “Awake My Soul” by Mumford and Sons

I bought the Sigh No More vinyl a few weeks ago, having only really been familiar with “The Cave”, “White Blank Page” and (of course) “Little Lion Man”. I don’t know what I was expecting but,dear God, everyone should go buy this album. And I mean buy, not just rip it off pirate bay. I mean every song is truly poetry set to music and I don’t think I’ve been so in love with lyrics. “Awake My Soul” is definitely one of my favorite songs (not that all of them aren’t brilliant) from the album, thus making it my song of the week.
